Extended families of nomadic Rom origin were living in various areas of Prato and this project aimed at bringing them all together in a new trailor park.

The camp has a circular layout and is furnished with a raised perimetral earthwork.

Apart from recalling the various temporary camps that characterized the first prehistoric settlements, this form also makes specific

reference to the fortified Viking camps of Denmark such as Fyrkat near Hobro, Nonnebakken, Trelleborg, Aggersborg.

The camp is organized around inner distribution axes arranged along the main cardinal north-south and east-west orientations, from which branch off pedestrain and street access.

The project calls for the realization of precise areas which can each be united one to the other according to the various families' specific needs.

The area devoted to comunal services is located at the center of the camp. There are minimal residential units furnished with individual services such as a kitchen and bathrooms.

Specific tree plantings subdivide the various areas furnished with installed service hookups for the various caravans.

The three-meter tall earthwork, made all around the camp's perimeter, is grass-covered and constitutes a barrier that guarantees both privacy and safety.

The camp is well inserted into the natural surroundings which are, for the most part, farmed fields.

The project has not been built.
