The project proposes a
residential home
situated on very steep
terrain.
It calls for a cubic
monolith, stuck in the
earth and faced, on the
outside, with whitestone
stripes. The chosen
stones -- Carrara marble
and green verde di Prato
– make clear reference
to Tuscany's Gothic and
Romanesque churches
while the arrangement in
stripes serves to
'measure' the slope of
the terrain.
A large stairway
penetrates and crosses
the entire house,
breaking up the monolith
and highlighting the
view towards the
outside.
The house has not been
built.
